Thanks to your generosity in
collecting signatures for the petition, the new target is

2006:
On the 1st day of October, there has
been the "On the 500 car with the animals" exhibition in
Gambolo (Pavia, IT), which has been joined by 53 vintage cars!
Funds for abandoned animals have been raised. Thanks to Mery

NoTurtle.Org will be present at a
meeting "In the 500 automobile with animals" (please, click here to see the site), which will take place
on October, 1st, in Gambolo' (Pavia, Italy), near the Castle,
where the love for animals and that for the historical car
will meet.
It will be possible to get information about
the situazion of freshwater turtles and it will be possible to
sign the petition to protect them!

1. The deadline for the first
collection of signatures for the petition to save the
freshwater turtles has been reached. Thanks to many
associations and individuals, now we have almost 1,000
signatures, that will be fundamental to present the
serious problem to the European Parliament!!!

noTurtle.com Giuliano Sadar reports that in the city of
Trieste, Italy, a legislation is effective to ban the sale
of freshwater turtles in the area!

The site has been slightly redesigned in
order to be more visible by search engines. The English part
has been renewed in order to launch the site all over
Europe.
News of April, 23rd,
2004:
Yesterday, on the occasion
of the successful meeting, kept by Giuliano Sadar and Riccardo
Moschetti following the invitation by the "Oltre la Specie"
("Beyond the Species") Association, there was the distribution
of the first forms for the petition for the Protection of
Turtles.
The petition will ask for the ban on the
importation of all the subspecies of freshwater turtles to
Europe. The collection of signatures will last for a year, as
far as we can see. By clicking on the "Petition" item of the
menu on the left, it is possible to download the forms, in PDF
format (who does not have the Acrobat Reader software can
download it, thanks to the link provided).
We do hope
everybody will do their own part, in order to try to stop this
horrible trade.

News of April, 17th, 2004:
On
April, 23rd, 2004, a petition to the European Parliament will
start. It will ask for the prohibition of the importation of
all subspecies of freshwater turtles to the European
Union. This will be asked both to protect European species of
freshwater turtles, and because imported turtles suffer
incredible pain for the shipping.
